Majd Abdallah
Meet Our Founder
Hi, I am Majd Abdallah. I grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, but my parents immigrated to the United States from Jordan in the Middle East. My father abandoned my family when I was 7, so I grew up with my mom and my older brother. Over time, my mom developed a mental illness that removed her ability to take care of me. We struggled with homelessness, poverty, and instability. When I was 16, I entered the foster care system. I lived with 16 other boys in a group home for one year. Through transportation services provided by Fostering Great Ideas, I met my foster family and moved in with them in 2019 - they are still my family today.
Why I Started Foster The Bear
Through my experiences, I saw the need for more awareness and support for the children in foster care. Foster The Bear Foundation is my way to be a part of the solution, while providing an opportunity for every person, no matter ability, to show support for the kids in the system. Why not do it in a cute and fluffy way?

On our website, you can donate to the foundation, purchase a Foster the Bear for your own home, or donate a bear directly to a child in foster care.

Foster The Bear Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that makes supporting foster care accessible and gives motivated teens in foster care scholarships.
