Foster's Scholarship
A WAY FORWARD FOR ASPIRING YOUTH IN FOSTER CARE
Every child in foster care deserves the chance to dream and the support to make those dreams real. At Foster the Bear Foundation, we are creating a scholarship fund to help youth in foster care achieve their goals, whether that's a college degree technical program, or trade training. This scholarship will support young people aging out of the system, offering financial help and encouragement. Launched in December our foundation is working to make this scholarship a reality. Every bear sold and donation made brings us closer to opening doors for youth in need belief in their potential. We look forward to awarding our first scholarship and saying,
“You’ve got this — and I’ve got you.”
Get Involved
On our website, you can donate to the foundation, purchase a Foster the Bear for your own home, or donate a bear directly to a child in foster care.

Majd Abdallah
Meet Our Founder
Hi, I am Majd Abdallah. I grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, but my parents immigrated to the United States from Jordan in the Middle East. My father abandoned my family when I was 7, so I grew up with my mom and my older brother. Over time, my mom developed a mental illness that removed her ability to take care of me. We struggled with homelessness, poverty, and instability. When I was 16, I entered the foster care system. I lived with 16 other boys in a group home for one year. Through transportation services provided by Fostering Great Ideas, I met my foster family and moved in with them in 2019 - they are still my family today.
Why I Started Foster The Bear
Through my experiences, I saw the need for more awareness and support for the children in foster care. Foster The Bear Foundation is my way to be a part of the solution, while providing an opportunity for every person, no matter ability, to show support for the kids in the system. Why not do it in a cute and fluffy way?
